You will not find a simpler doughnut recipe that this one on the internet! Only use yogurt and flour to create the dough and make soft fluffy doughnut which are great served warm.
The dough is really simple to make. All you need to do is mix the yogurt and self-raising flour together until it forms a ball. The wrap in clingfilm and allow it to rest on the side for 30 minutes.
Once rested roll the dough out to a thickness of 2cm, cut out using one big and one small circular cutter before frying in vegetable oil (160C) for a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown.
Take the doughnut out and place on the wired rack to allow any excess oil to drop out before dunking it in a glaze made of milk, icing sugar and butter.

- 200 g Natural yogurt
- 200 g Self raising flour
For Frying
- 1 L Vegetable oil
Glaze
- 30 g Butter, melted
- 20 ml Milk
- 200 g Icing sugar

- Mix the melted butter, icing sugar and milk in a bowl.

- Take the doughnut out and place on the wired rack to allow any excess oil to drop out before dunking it in a glaze.
- Place back on the wired rack to allow any excess glaze to fall and serve warm. These doughnut are best serve warm due to the nature of the dough they will only be fresh on the same day.
